Fiji Vacations

THERE are around 330 islands in the Fiji Islands (or the Feejees as it has often been called!). The main island is Viti Levu - Fijian for 'big Fiji'. The capital of Suva is located on the main island's southern coastline, while the main international airport is at Nadi on the opposite (drier) side of the island, close to some of the best vacation spots in Fiji. The Mamanuca Islands are popular for honeymoon vacations. So too the Yasawa Islands, which in addition to romantic luxury islands has many budget beach resorts for backpacker vacationers. Cruises are popular here. The outer islands - Savusavu, Taveuni, Beqa and Kadavu offer lush tropical locations, with sandy coves, rainforested highlands, spectacular scuba diving and active adventure holidays. They are also special honeymoon and wedding vacation regions.
