Savusavu
SAVUSAVU was once a colonial outpost in Fiji, a place steeped in romantic history of sandalwood trading and coconut plantations. Today it is a popular region for resorts, hotels and private vacation rentals. Many are located around the expansive Savusavu Bay, providing idyllic views of rainforested peaks descending to the ocean. The town itself is a quaint collection of shops and businesses, with a main street that runs along the waterfront and yacht harbour. Here one can lunch at the Copra Shed Marina, with picturesque setting and views of sailboats, both local and visiting. Outside of Savusavu in romantic locations along the Hibiscus Highway are a number of luxury resorts, with views out to the Koro Sea or over Nateway Bay - largest bay in the Southern hemisphere.
